What's coming with Prof-UIS Release 3.00 and beyond

General

Pro-UIS release 3.00 is scheduled for October 2013. Here is our current requirements plan. Please read it over and provide us with suggestion and comment on your requirements. This plan is subject to change as customer comments come in.

Quality

Prof-UIS is committed to providing high quality products. We will start introducing unit testing in all of our newer classes. We will provide samples that exercise all of the User Interface Classes. The new updates will provide Prototypes to help users get started. Our aim is not only a better library but a better C++ experience. This should allow customer to get to market more quickly with more impressive and reliable products.

Support

Prof-UIS's goal is to provide a same day response to support issues. We will always respond within one business day.

Release 3.00

We are planning a number of improvements in release 3.00. We are soliciting comments on the 3.00 software requirements. But remember, sometimes we will delay introduction of features to the next release if they do not perform up to our quality standards.

New Themes. We are planning on providing all Windows Themes from 2007 until 2013. This may or may not include Visual Studio 2013 depending on its release date. We are also planning on expanding the libraries' Skin capability to be compatible with Web, Android, and Apple products.

Release Cont.

Ribbons. There have been many suggestion received for improving the ribbon classes. We will add a number of these in release 3.00. We will also introduce a configuration system for our ribbon classes that will write the actual code.

Grid. We will add additional types of columns to the Grid classes. We will also allow the Grid to function more like a blank piece of paper. This often removes clutter from the User Interface.

HTML. The HTML class will be expanded to support the advertising classes. This will include some graphics and automation.

Skins. The skins will be expanded to include additional colorization and styles.

Resource Cleaner. This program will check the correctness of the Resource.h files and the resources numbering system. This program will also allow resource renumbering of Prototype dialogs for inclusion in existing solutions.

Size Optimizer. The Size Optimizer will analyze your code and determine the classes and resources required for your program. This list will be placed in the Prof-UIS.h file for your project.

Ribbon Configuration System. We have had several suggestions for implementing expanded ribbon functions. Many of these will be implemented. This will expand the usability of the Ribbon concept. If you have suggestions or requirements for expanded Ribbon functions, please let us know.

Grid Configuration System. This program will write the Grid CPP and H classes for a grid interface. The code can then be edited as required.

Advertising Interfaces. Prof-UIS will provide several interfaces for program based advertising. The demand for "FREE" programs gives rise for the need to advertise on your programs when they are used. We will also provide help to make your product compatible with various App Stores.

NOTE: If you have developed or want to help in the development of any of the Prof-UIS Utilities or Libraries please let us know.
